Random truancy sweeps during the 2024-25 School Year will allow school staff to reestablish connections with students and families facing attendance challenges to sure they receive support that allows their child to return to school regularly.

Dr. Lyle will begin serving as PGCPS’ district superintendent on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, bringing nearly 30 years of experience to the Prince George County Public Schools community.

Wednesday, September 18th

LL Beazley Elementary School is calling all students to enter our Attendance Awareness Poster Contest. Students are encouraged to submit a poster highlighting “Why Attending School is Cool”. The Top poster from each grade level will be shared on the school website, made into large posters, and will be given a reward.

Thursday, September 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Virginia Language & Literacy Screening System (VALLSS) screenings for kindergarten through third-grade students will be conducted during September and throughout the 2024-25 School Year. The initiative is part of PGCPS and Virginia's efforts to identify and support children with reading difficulties through early intervention.
