S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education is important because it fosters critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration, communication, and citizenship (Virginia's Profile of a Graduate 5Cs). By integrating the arts with STEM subjects, students develop a well-rounded approach to learning, encouraging innovation and adaptability. S.T.E.A.M. education also prepares students for the modern workforce, where interdisciplinary knowledge and technological literacy are essential. Additionally, it promotes collaboration and hands-on learning, making education more engaging and applicable to real-world challenges.

Ms. Laura Audino is Beazley's Instructional Technology Resource Teacher and School Testing Coordinator.  She collaborates and coteaches with classroom teachers to implement S.T.E.A.M. education across campus.
