As students returned to class to begin the 2023-24 School Year Monday morning, Dr. Coons, VDOE Chief of Staff Dr. Jeremy Raley, and district leadership spent time with students and staff, welcoming them back to school with encouraging messages while learning about PGCPS' programs and initiatives.

This year, we are starting PTAC (Parent Teacher Advisory Council) again at our school. Our goal is to use this as another outlet to inform parents about events at our school. We will also provide specific opportunities for parent involvement.

Our first meeting is next Thursday, September 7, 2023. It will be at 5:00 pm in the library.

Your input is vital in the planning and implementation of the parent involvement program and activities in your child’s school. The fun after-hours event was organized by L.L. Beazley Elementary School third-grade teacher Kristen Schwalm, Ann Audrey Eliades Kirk of Artisan Alley, and Philip Hughes of City Point Ice Cream and Burgers.

Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.

Our Read-a-thon starts Monday March 6, 2023. About one week before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.

We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today!
We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
We hope EVERYONE participates!
